How to Care for your pearls
1. Store your pearls in a soft cloth bag, separate from other jewelry. After wearing your pearls, wipe them gently with a soft lint-free cloth.
2. Never wash your pearls in an ultrasonic cleaner or use any commercial cleaners. Avoid contact with vinegar, inks, hairspray, perfumes, or lotions.
3. Put on your pearl jewelry after applying your cosmetics, hairspray and perfume to avoid these chemicals damaging your pearls.
4. Remove your pearls while showering, washing your hands, swimming, doing strenuous work or exercise.
5. When taking off a pearl ring, grab the shank or metal part of the ring rather than the pearl to prevent the pearl from loosening.
6. Re-String your classic pearl strands regularly. If worn often, experts recommend having your pearls restrung annually.
7. Avoid storing pearls in a very dry place such as a safe deposit box. Pearls like moisture and can crack if kept in a dry place for a long period of time.
