Alittle about the company, SoBello
SoBello is owned and operated by its founder, Angela McDonald. Angela launched SoBello in 2005 to bring classic pearls and other high quality jewelry to clients in the United Sates. Currently residing in Shanghai, Angela sources beautiful high-quality jewelry throughout Asia. She personally selects all the pearls and oversees the design work in the entire SoBello jewelry collection. Angela also offers tours of the Pearl Markets in Shanghai through a sister company known as Shanghai Pearl Tours.
A little about the Owner/Designer, Angela McDonald (GIA Pearls Graduate)
Angela was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1994 she moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in finance. Her and her husband's love of travel, culture and adventure led them to Australia in 1999. In Sydney, she was a manager with a marketing company working closely with the Sydney 2000 Olympics. She also spent time working for an investment bank in Sydney.
In 2002, Angela moved with her family to Shanghai where she further developed her love of fashion and design. Traveling throughout Asia, Europe and Australia, Angela found many exquisite materials and styles which she used to create her beautiful designs for her friends and family back home in the United States, all of whom loved the look of her jewelry,the quality of the natural products and the reasonable prices!
The positive feedback from friends, the ability to bring high-quality jewelry to others at a great value and opportunity to help those in need, led Angela to start SoBello Jewelry in 2004. In 2007, Angela received her Pearl Certification from The GIA, Gemological Institute of America.
Angela continues to reside in Shanghai with her husband, Jeff, and two young sons, Xavier and Maddox.
